About Me
I first realized one could make jewellery when I was on Hornby in 1975. After returning to Ontario, I took night courses at Mohawk College in Hamilton (Click here to see my CV for the list of my courses and instructors) then worked in my home studio for the next 20 years. At the beginning, we lived without electricity on a farm in the Bruce Peninsula, so I polished the jewellery using the back of a 10-speed bike with a series of pulleys! I taught small classes in my city studio in Kitchener from about 1987 to 1997. |

In 1999, I made a really big move, packed up the studio, rented the house and moved back to Hornby Island in time to celebrate the Millenium in the Community Hall. |

My work has always been inspired by nature, and more so since moving to the island, but with a love for form, balance and movement. Proportion and functionality are important to me because the wearer is part of the whole equation; the jewellery works best when it suits the person wearing it. My other love is music. I play and teach piano, and conduct and sing in choirs on Hornby. |
